Gosh I did these photos like a month ago but could not find what folder I put the recipe card I. On my computer. I thought it was lost forever but I finally found it last night! I guess thats the one good thing about having a boyfriend who bails on plans is that I have more time for photos. :/
Hummus is one of those things I eat all the time. Yep pretty much everyday. It is just so good. Having it with veggies, apples, chips, crackers, bread yeah I'll pretty much eat it on anything. But it is one of those things I have never found a good recipe for. Mine would always come out too chunky no matter how much I would blend it. Or has a weird taste that just does not compare to the ones I get at trader joes that are so good. Oh and I love you trader joes but why do you make that amazing tomato basil hummus in such small containers? I can eat it all in one sitting!
So I figured it was time to make my own recipe that I would actually want to eat. And this spicy version does the trick! It has such a nice kick and comes out pretty thick which helps to prevent me from eating the whole bowl.

Yum! You have sweet and savory mastered!
I'm completely there with you when it comes to TJ's hummus. I have to remind myself to stop and I've inhaled the container on more occasions then I'd care to mention. I'll have to give your version a try tomorrow. I think I even have everything in my pantry. Thanks!
Try removing the chickpea skin as the hummus comes out smoother that way. Lovely recipe. I am looking forward to making it!
Sounds like the perfect hummous recipe to me. Not wanting to eat the whole bowl would be a bonus for me too!!
What a beautiful blog! I have been looking for a spicy hummus recipe and since you clearlyyyy have good taste (TJ's has the best hummus ever!) I think I can trust yours! P.S. Can you explain what tahini is? Is there a substitute?
Marcella: Thanks! Tahini is sesame paste, it has like the texture of peanut butter. There really isn't a substitute but yu can get it at Trader Joes
I love TJ's Mediterranean hummus! I have been making mine also for quite some time but my recipe calls for sesame oil instead of tahini, do you think you can make that substitution? My recipe is from Dave Lieberman on the food Network. Your recipe looks fab! I am new to your blog and love it! Thanks!
Made this tonight. Fantastic recipe! I have tried so many. This is it. I did have to add more olive oil however, about 3 times as much, 1 tbsp at a time. Thanks for sharing!
