Another recipe I made in Michigan. This bread pudding was a big hit. When trying to think of something to make with all the apples, my Dad suggested a bread pudding. So when looking up recipes I found this one. It originally called for dried cranberries but I added whole fresh ones instead. They stayed whole while baking so when eating it, they add nice tart addition to the sweet pudding.
The hot buttered rum sauce that you drizzle on top, is out of this world. So buttery and the rum just gives it a slight kick. I had to use white rum for it because that's all I had on hand but it still came out wonderful.
I loved how the light came into my great grandfather's kitchen. The windows were higher than the ones in my kitchen, which lead to me being able to get that dreary look with dark shadows. It was a nice change to my kitchen, which lets into a lot of bright direct light which is not always the look I'm going for.
I found chestnut puree at the store today! I have never seen it before or had it, so I'm excited to use it in a recipe. If anyone has any suggests for how to use it, please leave them in the comments. Thanks!
