Ok so at my new job I have to go to San Francisco, its about 30 miles east of me. Whenever I tell people, they always go, 'Oh my gosh, you go all the way over there? That is way too long' I understand their response, but come on, if you could go to San Francisco everyday, do something you love doing, work in an awesome little cupcake shop and then get off at noon so you now have the whole day to explore the city, would you not? I can't complain.
Yup, I bake and get paid for it, and I can wear whatever I want to work! I've always had a job with a full on uniform, god this is amazing. Happy little blogger.
So one day after work, on the way to Bart, I saw there was a farmer's market.
Everything looked amazing and I wanted to buy it all but of course I didn't have any cash on me and was too enchanted in the market to wander away to go find an ATM.
It was one of the best farmer's markets I had been to. It had all these vegetables and fruits I had never seen before. Like eggplants that are so small they fit in the size of your hand? My grocery store does not have such a thing and so the minute I saw them I just gasped, going on to some random person about how precious they were.
Poll: Would anyone be interested in buying prints if I set up a tiny little online shop? I've always wanted to do so but it would be nice to get some feedback from people first. So give me your thoughts!!
UPDATE: The print shop is up and running. Come visit THE FIGGY.

Nice! First comment woo! The cupcakes look delicious. And I wish all the supermarkets sold vegetables and fruit that look as good as the ones in your photos. Excellent work as always.
I would definitely go to SF every day if I lived as near as you do! Those market photos are amazing!
that photo with onions looks like painting from old dutch school. amazing stuff!
Gorgeous pics. San Fran is one of my favorite cities on earth. Lucky you!
I love your photo of the onions... Yes for prints :) Will be visiting SF at end of the year. I think I'll have to spend a couple of weeks exploring the city!
Open air markets change the whole feeling about buying food. In Greensboro, NC we have a great market indoors. It's a wonderful market, but just being indoors almost does away with the intimacy that it offers. In a town called Saxapahaw, about an hour away, their farmer's market is super teensie but they have live music. I guess it helps that the market is on Saturday night, too. Live music might not draw a crowd at 7am!
Your photos are beautiful! I would love to be able to buy some prints from you.
Oh, California is a wonderful place! It always seems like Oz to me with the variety of fruits and veg and seemingly endless growing season. Sure, I would be interested in your prints.
I envy your job and your photography skills! I'm so glad I stumbled across your blog! I think the online shop is a great idea, people are always shopping for great photos!
I would definitely be interested in buying prints!
Prints are a great idea!
Before I read your last lines, I thought, "these images are gorgeous!"
Your photos are gorgeous - good luck with the print shop! I would buy them as gifts for people, great as housewarming presents!
O my goodness! I've been to the San Fran farmers market on the Embarcadero and it was lovely! So much delicious food! I'm going our for another visit in October, what bakery do you work at? I want one of those cupcakes, they look so amazing!
I think it's really hard for non creatives to understand the reasons we do the things we do for the jobs we love.
Your job sounds amazing! I'm jealous :)
I would be interested as well : )
Very interesting article. Esp. the stands used to support the head. I would not have noticed it on my own. Will have to look carefully at old photographs to see this feature.
